Answer:
Are they keeping the litter boxes clean? Have they tried adding more boxes in different locations? Some cats get where they don't like to share the box or don't want to go in a the litter box room for whatever reason.
Have them buy some Feliway on line or at their local pet store, it may help.

Answer:
he only will be happy with tidy cat liter,
they bought new liter box's thinking it might be cuz the box's were old
the box's are cleaned daily- Jake even washes out the liter box's
all 4 liter box's are inthe downstairs bathroom.
they are just goin nuts
they cant get new furanture if the cats going to keep pissing allover. It just gotten worse lately.
he keeps saying even though the cats fixed, hes gonnahav ehim cortorized. The cat peedon a very expensice jacket- that he uses at work, & hes a head superviser at a big biz(big man type stuff)
If it comes downto it, they might have to give him a new home-(.
not many people want 5yr old fixed cats who dont stop pissing allover.
is there any special food he should be pn,? allthe cats share food though- canned food 2am every day- dry food(pro plan mixed with 9lives- cuz they love the taste)
for a whilehe was potting inthe downstairs shower-

Answer:
Some cats may soil if they get disoriented or frightened with a new environment or change in environment. Usually, the problem clears up on its own in that case.
Some cats are territorial about litter boxes. He may want his own box without the scent of any other cat. You might just have to keep the litter boxes completely clean and change them very frequently. Have you tried to add a few extra litter boxes? Have you tried putting litter boxes in different locations throughout the house? That's what I do. That way, each cat can have its own territory.
Since your cat is from a humane society, you do not know his prior house-training or background. Could he have been an outside cat (some owners let them out at will) and just is used to going to the bathroom outside? Then, he needs to be re-house-trained. When you see him beginning to urinate, pick him up and bring him to the litter box. Take his front paws and gently dig in the litter with his paws. Do this religiously and he will get the picture - cats are very smart.
To discourage his returning to old soiled areas - clean the area very, very well to get rid of as much of the odor as possible. Spray with a product called Bitter Apple (it has a smell that most cats do not find appealing), then cover the area with an upside down cardboard box. This will help break the habit of the cat returning to these old soiled areas.
The cardboard box idea (which really does work) came from a book called The Natural Cat by Anita Frazier, which I highly recommend.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
According to the book I mentioned (The Natural Cat by Anita Frazier), sometimes when a cat begins to random wet all over the house it could be the beginning stages of a disease called cystitis. Stress can trigger this (a stress situation results from your being away too long, or having a baby, etc.). What happens is that the stress area for this cat is the urinary tract. When it begins to swell, itch and/or burn, the cat has a spasm and the urine comes out then and there - whether the cat likes it or not.
If this desease is left untreated and a blockage occurs, your cat will be in a lot of pain soon, straining without passing any urine - and an emergency visit to the vet will result.
Try to place at least 1 litter box in every room your pet goes into - like incontinence in people, when your cat has to go, he has to go.
Talk to your vet about the possibility of this being the early stages of cystitis. Talk to another vet for a second opinion. You may be lucky if it is caught early.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
cant put liter box;s in every room of the house
sorry- they have NO kids. & they will NOT put aliter box in the kitchen or any place food is- he was checked at the vet NO crystals
he was given a 100% check out clean bill of health.

Answer:
I don't think you necessarily would find crystals with cystitis, but you would have to check that with a vet. The random wetting you are describing still sounds like a medical problem. Whether it is stress, emotions, etc., whatever is triggering it - your cat is having an uncontrollable spasm that is causing him to involuntarily urinate (especially since he is doing this out of the blue recently). I would check it out with a good vet and/or go for a second opinion.

Answer:
i will let them know.not sure whats happenign to the cat but hes going tothe liter box also using it too.. ill know more when italkto them thrusday thanks

Answer:
Do they have different kinds of boxes? I read somewhere that sometimes cats either refuse anything but a covered box, or will refuse anything but an uncovered box. There is even a litter, Dr Elsey's Cat Attract, made to help re-litter train problem kitties. I might give that a try, even in just one box and see what that dose.

I am so sorry for your loss, Lynnn. My favorite cat died just after Thanksgiving, last year, and I still miss him so, so I know how you feel. I am sending you, from my heart, the kindest of sympathies. Take care.
