Betta tank pics for Danielle (bunnicula)

Question:
This is my most favorite tank ever. It is an Eclipse mini-bow. I believe they come in 3g and 5g. If you can get this tank, I would definitely go with it. Not only is it an awesome tank, easy to clean, and very attractive...it also comes with flourescent lighting. Not only is this type of lighting more pleasing to the eye, its also better for the fish because it will not heat the water like regular lighting. This tank is also very durable. I have had it running for about 3 years, and its still going strong. Its been through two apt. moves and has no cracks or scratches either.

This is one of my bettas, Vegas. He is still living happily in this tank with three cory catfish, who I have had for about 10 years!

The only thing I changed about this tank was the filter. It comes with a really cool biological filter, but it was too loud and too turbulant for me. I personally like these little Whisper submersibles. You can get them at Wal-mart for about $10, and they work great and are very quiet. They are also very durable and last a long time.

This is my second favorite betta tank. Its made by Tetra and is 2.5 gallons. It can also be found at Wal-mart. I like this tank. Its not as durable and fancy as the Eclipse though, and the light is incandescent, so you have to be careful about the water getting too hot. It comes with the filter I like though, and overall its a nice little tank. You can also get it in 5 gallons.

I can't wait to see your tank and betta when you decide on them!

Answer:
I really like the Eclipse tank! That's a handsome tank. I haven't seen either of those around here...I think that I'm going to have to look somewhere else, as I have been pretty disappointed with the selection at the fish store and at Walmart.

I bet you can order it online. This is the company's site: http://www.marineland.com/products/c...on_systems.asp

Answer:
Thanks. I just looked them up, and I think that they're a little out of my price range. I want something decent, but I don't really want to spend too much...

Oh, ok. What about the Tetra ones?

Looking at your other post http://www.pets-on-the-net.com/forum...ad.php?t=15126 I know that tank is avalible ast Pets Unlimited. If you have a chance go to the new pet store in Penhorn mall as they might have something better. I know the selection at Wal-mart isn't the greatest. At the Sackville store we only have 3 glass tanks and sometimes a fourth. The smallest glass tank we have is 5 gallon and doesn't have anything besides a hood included. We have nice 3 gallon starters but they are plastic which I know you aren't looking for.

Yeah, that one was at the Halifax Walmart as well, but Steph doesn't recommend it.

I am reconsidering plastic. Are you sure that it's a 3 gallon starter kit and not 2? Could you look to see what it's called?

When did a new pet store open in Penhorn mall? There was always the little one, but I didn't know that there was a new one...but yeah, you're right. I think that I should take a trip to Dartmouth. Maybe I'll go on Tuesday (unless stores are open on Monday...).

Answer:
There is a 1 gallon in a bright yellow box called petite paradise and a 3 gallon in a bright green box made by the same company. The aqua series might have a 2 gallon if that might be what your thinking of. They have so much stuff out I never keep it straight unless I'm looking at it.
It might be the same pet store but they started advertising this year, it's called Petsters. They say they specialize in unique animals. And, stores are closed Monday, and I'm having lovely day off.

Answer:
A 3 gallon would be nice...I'm trying to find a picture online. Do you know how much you sell them for? Are they kits?

Yeah, Petsters has always been there. They sold fish, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, occasionally degus, cats and dogs. Nothing unique...maybe they've changed.

I have the 2.5 gallon one. I absolutely love it. It's so easy to clean and has a lot of space for a betta. I think I got mine for $20 and it came with the filter, which is also wonderful.
