What's your dog treats?

Question:
 What kind of dog treats do you get?(biscuits,bacon strips,bones,etc.)
What size are they?(small,medium,large,x-large)
What flavor do you get?(liver,chicken,bacon,cheese,etc.)
For me i got small biscuits with assorted (dry)flavor filling inside.The flavors are Smoked Bacon,Chicken,& Liver
Oh and just came to mind is there a such thing as scooby snacks for dogs?From scooby-doo series when you were a kid probably, and they give scooby a few to make him investgate the creepy haunted places? :confused:

Ripley gets special carob-chip "cookies" (they're okay for human consumption as well, and they taste like chips ahoy.) that I get at a local petstore. His other "treats" tend to be raw food, I occasionally give him a chicken neck as a treat, or a turkey gizzard (it takes him forever to eat one.)
Dakota gets Old Mother Hubbard biscuits, the medium-sized ones, and occasionally he gets one of Ripley's cookies. He gets raw meat as a treat, too.

My bunch love the Mother Nature (especially the carrot 'cakes') and Branstone cookies. I get them these HUMONGOUS biscuits that are made at a pet bakery in Chattanooga that they love and actually take them more than a few seconds to eat. (I just realized, those biscuits are probably about as big as Akiro is now, lol!) They like Mother Hubbards treats as well, but they really aren't large enough according to the grrrrls, lol!
Shiva and Kharma hang around when I'm fixing food. They jockey for position to get the tomato trimmings, an odd bite of cantalope or just about anything else I'm prepping. Kharma has a passion for raw cabbage hearts :confused: And of course they love any kind of raw meat or bones.

Mine like all kinds... all not very good for them though :( Mother Hubbard ones are great, and come in all sizes. They love the health pro biscuit and gravy ones, otherwise I use random peanut butter/liver treats. You just need to make sure to give small pieces to keep their attention and not fill them up.

yes, there are snacks like that, but they are the equivalent of the worst human junk foods you can imagine. it's best not to feed them at all.
here's the ingredient list for "scooby snacks far out snacks" for example (i have marked ingredients best to avoid in bold):
soy flour, wheat flour, corn syrup, corn starch, chicken, water, propylene glycol, animal digest, bone phosphate, bacon, beef, soy protein concentrate, animal fat (BHA and citric acid as preservatives), dried cheese product, sugar, salt, potassium chloride, phosphoric acid, sorbic acid (used as a preservative), caramel color, titanium dioxide, natural smoke flavor, garlic powder, yellow 5, yellow 6, red 40, BHA (used as a preservative), citric acid (used as a preservative).

Pieces of fruit like bananas, watermelon, NOT grapes. And when I need pocket treats, Charlee Bear small liver treats. Peanut Butter once a week too.

I use Charlee Bear as my training treats, liver flavor. They look like oyster crackers. If you can find them, check out Three Dog Bakery stuff. It's all natural, no salt, no sugar, no chocolate (carob instead) and they use human grade ingredients. It's local for me, but they've gone national in the past few years. Most dogs can't get enough of them and they make an apple and oatmeal for dogs with allergies.

since my dog is on a home prepared diet, i have to be inventive about high-value treats that are good enough to motivate him during training classes. mthey can't be crunchy because eating them takes too long and often makes him cough up bits when things are hectic.
one thing i've found out that works extremely well and isn't full of junk are natural balance food rolls. i cut them up into pea-sized bits and about half a cup is usually all i need per one-hour training session. quigley likes the taste because it's different from what he usually eats.
outside of training, i give liver biscotti now and then (www.liverbiscotti.com), or dried fish treats - sitstay.com has a nice selection. and since my cats eat innova evo and the dog likes that too, that's what i give when i run out of other treats. :)

i make my own biscuits, and liver treat. I also by puffed jerky. But what works best for me is cheese. shadow goes wild for cheese, will do anything for it, and it works. ALso you can get it ne where!

For my dogs I give them Canidae snap biscuits, Wellness treats, freeze dried meats from Nature's Variety are great as well, I can take them any where and carry in my fanny pack...and most often I just take organic free range cow liver or sheep and boil it to use for great training incentive. I also have used raw hamburg to treat, only right in the house close to the fridge. Or, I have used cheese, baby carrots, apples and broccoli...my Newf Dilon LOVES broccoli and would walk through fire to get it! haha The other dogs don't particually care for broccoli but love anything if Dilon eats it...he is my food ring leader. :D

Colby will eat basically anything, she just plain loves food, but I bought one of these little food rolls (not Natural Balance) a while ago, it lasted me quite a while I sliced it into small, thin pieces and used them for training. The girls went bonkers for them.
They all appreciate carrots, May loves broccoli and shrimp, Tippy is crazy about bananas, and they love their raw marrow bones they get to chew on in the yard. Occasionally I make homemade treats, they love them, they also like Three Dog Bakery biscuits and a local pooch bakery's too.

it really depends how much you give. if it is just a little bit as a treat now and then it's not too bad, but if you use it as a training treat and have to reward often, i would use something that isn't quite as salty and fatty.

i just got some Old Mother Hubbard treat bits for oakley...he wont touch them!! i tried putting them in his food bowl, so he'd eat them with his food...but he left them all behind :rolleyes:

Brutus loves mango, bananas, and apples, he also likes tomato wedgies. Roxie loves carrots, apples and blueberries. Maggie will not touch fruit. They get occasional beef neck bones, raw. And anything they can get from Mckinley(grandbaby) She loves to share her food with them. Their most favorite: they beg for ice cubes. They also have some bil jac treats, bought them on quick impluse the day we brought Brutus home. Pet Smart had nothing that great. Will change when I run out.

I went to buy food for the monsters today, and they had wellness and innova treats. It's a bit expensive ($6 and $10), but the bags are huge, so overall it's worth it, in my opinion. The dogs seem to like them.
Now if I could find good soft treats.

I mainly use Natural Balance meat rolls (turkey formula). I cut the rolls up into very small squares and use them for training treats.
I used to use Timberwolf Organic meat rolls until they stopped manufacturing them. NB seems somewhat comparable.
