Please pray for KonaQuestion:My baby is not well. I'm not sure what is the matter, and cannot find out until Monday. There are no E-Vets around here, and my vet just happens to be out of town at the moment. I'll call up a few others tomorrow to see what I can figure out. If any of you have any suggestions, please tell me. I am really worried sick about her. She is excessively drooling, so much that she soaked my blanket on my bed, a towel, and my mattress. She is also slow and lethargic, unwilling to eat or play, or even go out to the bathroom. Please send some good thoughts, prayers, or anything that will help my baby. I am scared to death. Answer: I think you should get her to a vet ASAP. Keep calling around someone will help you. I do not think you should leave it until Monday. Drooling can be due to a number of things such as, 1. An obstruction in the throat area (has she been chewing on anything that could cause this) 2. It can also be a sign of poisoning (has she been anywhere new or possibly eaten something she should not have) Found this page for you, might be some help, poisons at the bottom of the page http://www.pets.ca/articles/article-firstaidk9.htm. I know all this sounds scary but please keep carm and I will keep thinking of you both. Please let us know she is ok. Answer: Angel this doesn't sound good :( You need to get her to a vet ASAP! Answer: *whew* Send that vet a fruit basket or something!! I'm so glad Kona is ok. Answer: Oh thank heavens! Angel, usually when they drool it's often because they ate something bad for them. Thank heavens whatever it was, it wasn't poisonous. You must be feeling drained right about now. Answer: Yeah, I am... I went to bed at sbout 5 sfter staying up with her. Answer: Thanks again guys :) Well, we have been watching her hark for signs of what she had digested that would hurt her. Nothing came up, so the vet said she most likely tried to nibble on a toad or frog and got a little poisoned, but not enough to hurt her. As of right now, she is back to her old waggly tailed self, and has even went for a good walk and a car ride. Once again, thanks guys. I really do appreciate each and every one of you :) Answer: I wish they had a hug smilie:D I am so happy to hear it... Andrea Answer: Thanks Andrea :) You know, my older sister's name is Andrea... we call her Andie :) She lurks on the forum from time to time... Answer: Thanks Andrea :) You know, my older sister's name is Andrea... we call her Andie :) She lurks on the forum from time to time... :yikes: They called me Andy to and Andy Panda!!:D Answer: Oh wow, I was going to say it sounds a lot like how Dakota acted when he tried to eat a poisonous toad. You are very lucky that you caught it early, my "freak out" instincts didn't kick in until he was vomiting blood and falling over. Glad Kona is okay! Answer: im so glad she's ok! Answer: Woo! I'm so glad that she's okay! I was worried! Answer: My baby is not well. I'm not sure what is the matter, and cannot find out until Monday. My boss's boxer was just having the same problem... she was SO worried and upset that it might be something really serious. It just turned out that Tex had a severe case of nausea and just had to take a pill to settle his tummy. Hopefully that is all it is. LOL nevermind... seems you already found the answer... ha sorry bout that. Glad she is better though Answer: Glad to hear she is on the mend. I was really worried, still sending you good thoughts. Take Care. |
