Natura (Innova) the only option left for dog foods???

Question:
I just wanted to see what people thought about the natura line since all of a sudden people who feed or know of Timberwolf organics seems to be suspect to keeping secrets..........:( I was feeding Innova evo red meat because Caiza has issues with chicken. I asked about TWO on here before I bought my first bag and people who replied had nothing but great things to say about. However, ever since all this food recall people are now questioning TWO's manufacturing. So now what? Should I go back to Innova

Answer:
I'm comfortable with feeding Natura products and I'm comfortable with their response to the recall, so I don't see why not.

Answer:
I like natura products and if they weren't so expensive would feed them to Hannah. Holly has to eat timberwolf but I have no problems with their products.

Answer:
I still feel comfortable with Canidae, but I rotate with EVO and I can't wait to be back on that right now :o

Answer:
I still like Timberwolf Organics and will continue to recommend it. While I feel it's important for companies to be open and honest with customers it won't necessarily make or break the deal for me. TWO makes good food with good quality ingredients. I think what is most important is how your dog does on a certain food. Any food manufacturing plant can become contaminated, so I am not one to jump to another food immediatley.
Anyway, I never had that great of results with Innova. Soft stools were a bit of a problem and I have an issue with feeding barley. But, the EVO line was always great with my dogs.

Answer:
I forgot to add, do you have access to Orijen? That is a great option as well with superb customer service. :)

I googled Orijen and would order it on-line but Caiza can't tolerate chicken and they don't seem to have a very good variety............TWO lamb and apple has worked wonders for him so I won't be jumping right back to the evo but eventually when the larger bite kibble (evo red meat) comes out I will mix the two together with it.

Answer:
I thought the Natura canned products was made at a Menu plant. Must have read it wrong...

Answer:
TWO is a good food... I just wish that they wouldn't keep secrets. I will still recommend the food as well... but I just think that everyone should be aware that they won't admit where their food is produced.

Answer:
Yeah the natura canned is made at menu..

Answer:
So Innova canned is made at Menu foods? And where is the dry kibble made? Anyone know?

Answer:
I feel comfortable feeding the Dry food, but not the canned any more.
I would like to switch my dogs over to the EVO and RM once I can get back on my feet money wise.

Answer:
There are plenty of high quality foods available:
Canidae
Solid Gold
Eagle Pack
Nature's Variety

Answer:
What was Natura's response about Innova? I went to their website and I can't get the video to play. I currently feed EVO Reduced Fat Dry Food to my dogs. I'm a little nervous now.

Natura Pet Products Inc. of Santa Clara says it will cancel a manufacturing agreement with embattled Menu Foods and operate its own pet food manufacturing plant.
The announcement Monday comes following further nationwide pet food recalls involving dog and cat food that might have been tainted with wheat gluten from China.
Although not implicated in the recent massive Menu Foods canned food recall, Natura says it will either acquire or build a canning plant so that the company can exercise complete control over its product lines.
Natura says the canned foods that Menu Foods made for it were manufactured in a Menu Foods South Dakota plant, rather than in the affected Kansas and New Jersey plants.
“We take very seriously our responsibility to provide healthful and safe products for the thousands of dogs and cats that eat Natura pet foods,” says Peter Atkins, one of Natura’s founders and owners, in written comments. “To do this effectively we must ultimately control the manufacture of all products that we sell.”
Natura owns and operates the plants that make its dry pet foods and its baked treats and biscuits. Until it begins its own canning operation, the company says it will have one of its own quality control employees on-site in South Dakota to oversee the production of its products. Natura has also instructed its buyers to utilize ingredients from domestic suppliers only.

They manufacture their own dry food...

Answer:
I like Natura's response and will continue to feed it. Although my dogs still don't get canned food and that's not because of the "scare" it's because they don't need it.

Answer:
I reccomend Dog Lovers Gold.

Answer:
I feed Innova Dog and will continue to do so, though I would eventually like to end up feeding raw. But he only eats the dry anyway. I'd like to try the EVO sometime, maybe they'll have a good price on a bag at the trade show next weekend.

Answer:
Zoey does well on the Innova Evo RM.
But Kai doesn't like the taste of most Innova products. He liked the Evo well enough, but didn't do very well on it.
He's been doing great on the TWO so far, so I hope we don't have any problems before he switches to raw.

Answer:
I have no worries about feeding any Naturapet products, canned or otherwise. They do their own QA and source their own ingredients. The can at Menu because there are very limited choices for canning apparently. According to people in the industry, Menu was apparently one of the best places for canning, so if you just choose to avoid Menu you might be actually dropping down a notch.
I think Natura's reputation, products, customer service and response to this speaks for itself.
I don't trust Timberwolf Organics, although if I had a really tough to feed dog with lots of intolerances and few options, I wouldn't rule them out completely.
I just HATE that they call themselves "organics" and aren't certified nor do they use organic ingredients. WTF is up with that? If that isn't the most blatant and obnoxious case of disprespecting/ purposely setting to decieve the consumer, I don't know what it. Then there's the customer service problems and the secrecy-- the whole thing makes me just not want to deal with that company but especialy not at a time like this.

Answer:
I am still very comfortable with a lot of brands, but I am currently looking into switching to Canine Caviar as a future possibility.

As much as I love Timberwolf foods for my dog and cats, I have decided to switch my boy over to honest kitchen and home cook as well as some raw. I think timberwolf is still an excellent food and it smells incredible enough to make me want to eat it LOL! I emailed them a question about a month ago and never received a response. I know others have complained of them not answering questions and not being "up-front" with where and who manufactures their food and that I don't like that about them................

Answer:
My dogs have been on EVO ever since it came out a few years ago I've been quite happy with the results. I've heard of some dogs gaining weight on it and except for Tilly, who could probably loose a couple pounds and had it on her before she came to us, Kassie and Boomer are at a perfect weight and they are free fed.
