Doberluv,Sizzledog, Dr2, Dob lovers?

Question:
I finally have the picture from Kohls' first show last month. Rose City Classic, in Portland. He turned 6 mos. day of show. We can't use pics for ad http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r72/woodshire/FayeKohl2.jpgoing, too dark, trying to fix... but wanted to show you all how he's grown!!

Answer:
He's lovely, Otch! :) I'd love to see more of him.

Answer:
a bit too small to make out clearly... buthe looks great! What do you mean you can't use the photo for ads? I believe all win pics are fair game for canine advertising.
I've used several win pics in ads I've done for various dogs: http://www.freewebs.com/ilrodesign/advertisements.htm

Answer:
O.k., goofed. Meant to make that larger, so you could actually see him! Will work on that. He had a good first show, I was very proud of him. At Dob specialty Thus. he got 2nd place 6-9 mos., Fri, Sat and Sun. 1st place, all 3 days and Friday (this picture) was Reserve winner. Go Dobermans!!!

Answer:
Hi Sizzledog. In the original pic (shown), something went wrong as the entire background and floor came out black. You can barely see the out line of dog. This was in a very brightly lit convention center, cameras everywhere. Unfortunately, his pic turned out too dark to use in breeders ad - Doberman Digest and the photographer hasn't returned my emails to fix this. We tried, but it looked awful.

Answer:
He's looking so handsome. You should be very proud.

Answer:
He's one stunning boy! :D

Answer:
otch - usually, a dark photo such as that can be fixed. If you are using DD's in-house designers to fix it... they probably didn't try too hard - they're not paid to edit photos in that way.
If you want a great ad, it's best to hire a designer of your own. The in-house people for Doll-McGinnis have too many ads to really put their heart and soul into each individual ad. I've been working with a client for more than a month on ONE ad - many freelance ad designers have more time to spend with individual clients.
I may be biased because I'm a freelance canine advertisement designer myself, but IMO... if you're paying the big bucks to get an ad in the DD, why not spend a little more and get an ad that people notice?

Answer:
He's absolutely gorgeous Otch. And he did so well. No wonder you're proud. It is a shame that that photographer screwed up. I hope you'll post more pictures that you take of him.....just at home kind of pictures. He is really lovely. Would also love to hear more about him...little stories, goofy things, what you're working on with him, any quirks....just Dobertalk. LOL. So, *chants* more pictures, more pictures, more pictures.

Answer:
PS - I know what went wrong in the photo... the photographer used an incorrect flash, so the handler/judge/dog got washed out, while the background got nothing at all... bam, a bad photo. I had the same thing happen to me in Burlington... I returned the photo without paying for it, it sucked!

Answer:
I know, I was disappointed. Breeder says not to be discouraged, he'll do it again soon (I hope!!) and we'll get a good picture. He's naughty Doberluv! Torturing the poodle, into everything, jumping on me when we're "resting", a paw to the face, a paw slapped down on computer when I'm typing and won't acknowlege him. He's pushy, has a rotten sense of humor, (he ran up to the front door, beating me there when a customer came, and had a pair of underwear in his mouth.) He dropped them when I told him to go lay down, but it's a partial glass door. The client was laughing.) He's fearless outdoors, on the road with me, but something scary comes on t.v., like last night a fire in the movie and he's hackles up and running to me woofing. Big baby. I love him!!

Answer:
What a beautiful boy he is otch. I'd love to see more shots of him as he grows. You must be a very proud mama.:) :hail:

Answer:
Hey Showpug are you out there? I want to show off my new puppy to you too. The picture's tiny, I'm hoping to fix that. But we were just a few rings over from you that day and as I was dashing to ringside, (was outdoors hoping Kohl would "empty out" out there, verses in the ring) I believe I passed you.

Answer:
Otch! I just picked up this thread again.....that is hysterical. Yes, underwear! A favorite around here too. LOL. These Dobermans are real dorks, especially the males...no end to the junior high school maturity level in their humor. Lyric makes me laugh every day, several times. But my serious underwear stealer is my little girl Chihuahua. She's a nut!

What a beauty! I want more pictures though! I don't remember seeing the dobermans at Rose City, but then again I kind of tune a lot out before show time. Too bad I missed you, would have loved to see that pup in person!

Answer:
Otch- he looks absolutely beautiful! (Even in that tiny little photo, LOL).
I had no idea you were at Rose City! I live in Portland and have been to that show every year since I started going to U of P. Couldn't convince my parents to send Kimi from WA, so instead I cheered on my extended Shiba & Akita family.
You'll have to let me know what other shows you hit around this neck of the woods. I'd certainly love to see Kohl in action, and it would be great to meet another Chazzer in person!
Congrats again- he's really beautiful, and I hope to see more photos soon!

Answer:
Even though I can barely see him he looks gorgeous!! I would love to see more pictures of him! :)

Answer:
OTCH,
Hope you don't mind....I stuck it in my photo editor, I noticed the pixels on this shot were down to roughly 200 by 300 or so. I expanded the number of pixels but i notice that his face is blurred in the shot. Still, you can see his gorgeous bod.

Answer:
Oh! *gasp* Tosca! You're a magician! That is a huge improvement! Just wait until Otch sees that! He is too gorgeous to not see better. Well done!

Answer:
Wow. . .he is BEAUTIFUL. Thanks for doing that, TM! You can now see his sleek body and gorgeous, shiny coat.

Answer:
Thank you, thankyou, thankyou. Good timing too. We worked in a packed room last night, a lot of pro handlers and breeder/owners out with multiple dogs to work before upcoming show here. People were coming in with crates stacked on wheels, three deep for the toys. He was so excited about all of the dogs he head butted me under chin when I went to place front paws for the first stack. Saw stars. He was taking bait a little too ferociously and then spun a circle while we were standing talking to a friend and he almost took me out at the knee. I'd really lost my patience by 9pm. me... because he's a cute boy and it's fun and he really will outgrow this phase. He really will... I just hope I survive it.

Answer:
Pushed the wrong key on that last post, tired! Lol Meant to say, "I was asking myself, why are we doing this again, then this picture reminded me... " so thankyou toscas mom!!

Answer:
Cheer up OTCH, Tosca gave me a bloody nose yesterday and there isn't even a chance for show points.:lol-sign:

Answer:
Otch! I thought that very thing when Lyric was a pup. "Will I ever survive this?" You don't know how many times it took for me to learn to never put my head above his when he was in a playful mood.....how many times of getting my $2,000 nose smashed by that big bone on top of his head. Finally, after chastising myself for being "slow on the uptake," I learned to watch out for a Doberman on the rampage. I should have known better. I know that little rule when working around horses....don't put your head over theirs. But oh no....never thought of a Doberpup as a horse. Well, I do now. LOL. Yes, there are the knees to be taken out, especially on those great recalls and the arm to be grabbed in a vice-like grip in play. These Doberman puppies are down right dangerous and you wonder if they'll ever pass certification as "civilized." LOL.

Answer:
Absolutely, and I have a lot more of this to go thru! I have to put my head over his every time I set the front and he gets this look in his eye. Almost like he's smiling. "Here she comes again, didn't she learn her lesson last time. Time for a love bash."

Answer:
LOL. Yes, they are "sadistic" when they play. My breeder told me that. "They're extremely playful, but in a sadistic way." Boy, it's a toss up if that is anthropomorphizing or not. LOL.
