Someone please explain this to me before I get really upset....Question:Well, I saw Adrienne's post about her gorgeous doggy visitor (don't worry this has nothing to do with that post, it is just how I found this link I am about to tell you about), so I thought I would look up that breed of dog on the internet. You guys know how I love to learn about a new breed of dog. It really ticked me off that people would even converse about what kind of dog could kill what kind of dog. What kind of pyscho sickos talk about this stuff? I thank God that I found all of you wonderful people and not people like this. When I say you guys are great, you really and truly are. I am so glad that for the most part we have kept trouble makers away from us. A few may have come, but they eventually go when we all get upset at them. Answer: OMG, thats horrible!!! There may be, Nedim, although dog fighting is a relatively low priority crime for most agencies. It wouldn't be hard for someone undercover to work their way into a group like that, but it could easily kill you getting out . . . not to mention it would be tough to be accepted without actually putting at least a couple of dogs in to fight. These are the people who give pits a bad name. These are the people that hurt, starve, and torture the animals that we have to put so much time into to try to rehabilitate them and make them better. As I reread my post to them, I realized it was mostly just me being mean instead of making valid points, which I am hoping that some of you did in your posts to them. I should have made more valid points, but I figured with people like these, I should just throw some low blows because either way they are never going to see the error in their ways. So, I just wanted to tick them off as bad as they ticked me off. Another reason it made me so mad, is there is a dog down the street that a really nice couple saved. When he was found as a 8 week old puppy, someone was already starving him and beating him to train him as a fighting dog. He is extremely dog aggressive and people aggressive for that matter, but this couple took him in and gave him a wonderful home and they treat him so well and have helped him in so many ways. He still is aggressive, but he has more people he will be around, and a couple of dogs that he will not attack. He is a samller dog, but his presence is very big. I hate that anyone should have to be wary of an animal but because of these people, IF the dogs can even be saved, people and animals have to be wary around them until they have been rehabilitated, IF that is even possible. For the most part our culture breeds dogs for qualities and traits other than fighting, and there are cultures that breeds soley for fighting qualities. There are places in the world where families breed fighting dogs the same way Love's familly breeds mushing dogs. That said, breeding for and training dogs for fighting turns my gut.
