Bunnies!Question:Any one who's ever been aquainted with a bunny know how sweet they are. Who would ever want to neglect, abuse and skin them alive? Wet Seal would. :'( They support the fur farms big time and that means they support one of the most extreme cruelty to bunnies there is. If we can get Wet Seal to stop the sale of rabbit fur we will have saved millions of bunnies lives. I mean all bunnies want to do is hop and play not be a stupid scarf. Please visit this link... http://www.peta2.com/ot/wetseal/index.asp thanx fellow bunny luvers Answer: There's probably going to be a lot of flames and problems with my reply but I feel it is very important that another side is expressed. I am not for meat or fur, but I do realize and have *learned* that it is a needed process. I'd also like to say to begin with that not all orginizations use terroist tactics when securing animals, but some do and some times its part of the orginization and not the whole thing! So you're telling me you'd rather see millions of rabbits be put to sleep, turned out, starved to death, and not used constructivelly at all? I know that they have a breeding facility for their rabbits, but you have to look at the bigger picture as well. Have you actually contacted Wet Seal to see how they end the rabbits life? It is illegal to skin any animal alive by the way and since you have to be US licensed for such activities this is checked out on a regular basis with very strict rules and regulations on health, production, and waste disposal to give specific examples but EVERY THING is monitored. It seems you need to do more research. Yes it is sad that rabbits go for fur and meat, however it is needed. For some countries and places in the US this is the main staple of food and clothing. I'm glad you live in a situation that you can afford groceries, because some people can't afford that and they have to eat what they raise whether they like it or not. It keeps rabbits that would just be put down (turned out, abused, tortured) and not used at all to go for a good purpose. There are hundreds in shelters right now that need homes that *will* be put down by peta and other animal control places because they claim there is no outlet for these rabbits. Do they use the bodies constructivelly? No, they burn them up or burry them in some whole. They do not think of donating them to predator rehibilitation centers, food production, or any thing else because it is not natural. What they do isn't natural either, so why do they claim that its impossible to use the dead rabbit for a good purpose if it was healthy to begin with? If you attack Wet Seal, you're attacking a very large industry period. One can start with one company and it goes wild. What is going to happen when they start attacking pet stores, your neighbor that has bunnies 2 or 3 times a year, breeders, show rabbit people? Are you going to be for that too? I suggest you do more research on your peta friend and find out about their silent operations against responsible breeders and good pet shops along with the general public. Not all of peta and humane departments have such extremists, but there are a great deal of those people out there that will cut the locks on cages and steal rabbits from some one's back yard or garage. They never have the proper papers and believe that those rabbits should be free to run and breed at will (if you don't know any thing about gentics then it probably won't mean a thing to you but those that are responsible breed for a better rabbit!). Disease out breaks, deformalities, and a number of other problems will get lots worse if domestic rabbits are kept and bred responsibly. Domestics are not wild rabbits even if they retain some of their wild cousins traits, they can't live like them. The American Rabbit Breeder Association is a good source of information and also the House Rabbit Society in my opinion. Both have their own view but agree that things must be done responsibily and with the welfare of rabbits in mind. Answer: OMG!!!!! i am a peta member...my name is beezie... see ya around! |
