Nooch is Gone to Kitty Heaven

Question:
Hello All, I lost my cat of 8 years today. She was awesome and in good health. The problem is we finished our basement and also have a new baby, and with the changes she started using the new basement as her litter box. Thats the bad news, I feel so guiltly that I put a strong and healthy animal to sleep. The vet said that if I did put her up for adoption that no one would take because you must list the reasons why the cat is up for adoption (no one wants a cat that is not using the litter box) and in 2-3 weeks she would be put to sleep by the humane society. The good news is I remember how rowdy and fun she was, and how she caught a couple of mice in our old house and now she is looking down at us. That it, just bummed out today and need some time to forget about my cat.
Answer:
how do you have the nerve to say you loved your cat and stuff. people like you make me soooo amd it's not even funny. putting an animal down because it doesn't go to the washroom where you would like it to go. so what when your potty trianing your kid and it dosen't use the toilet like you would want it to your gonna go and out the kid down. no i don't think so and to treat a helpless loveing animal like that is wrong.that cat was just like your kid. but no because you are to bull headed and didn't want to take the time to clean up it's mess or give it attention to show that you do still care you have to put it down. you should not even be allowed to own any more animals. infact you shouldn't have even had that cat if you could not have cared for it properly you should have just put it up for adoption and give the poor thing a fighting chance for his life. and when you asked who would want a cat that doesn't use his little box well i would want a cat like that because i know what it takes to own pets and the love and dedication each pet needs. and i wuld not put him down for a stupid reason like not useing his litter box. like ok you had a kid i understand and babies do take up alot of time. but then you could have made a little time for the cat or put it up for adoption. but no that might of been too much for you so you decide to take the easy way out. people like you shouldn't own animals. that's all i have to say.

:'( I have to respond to your post because I cant understand how anyone could put down a pet they claim to of loved because he wouldnt use the litter box!! You bring a new baby home and its only natural the cats going to become jealous and upset, act out, just like a child would when a new baby brother/sister comes into the home. Given time, lots of extra love and attention the cat would of adjusted, but to put it to sleep? I had a cat named Thomas, I was 17yrs and he was like my shadow, we did everything together, ate together, sunbathed togethet, sleep together, lounge around watching TV together, Thomas would even sit on the dressing table next to the bath tub and wait for me while I took my bath, sometimes he'd reach his little paw over into the water and meow, and just really want to play but when my baby daughter came home a year later he became very jealous and upset, he didnt want to have nothing to do with me, at first I had no ideal what was wrong with him, I sat down on the couch and he climbed up behind me and just layed there but then he became upset and just clamped down onto my head and wouldnt let go! I knew he was upset but I'd never take him and have him put down for that, after time and extra love and attention he adjusted. Your cat would have adjusted to, you should have atleast given your cat a chance, animals are like kids, people, they have feelings too and they react to different things, different surroundings, different circumstances but they need time, I know there would have been someone special out there who would have loved to have taken your cat and made it their own. I bet the cat would have learned to use the litter box again. Never waste a life when its one that should be living........
