Do you believe?Question:Okay, first off, I did check. All my kitties that I had been taking care of at work had been caught, redomesticated and adopted out. All of them had gone to loving families. I couldn't ask for anything better for them. There is one sad part of the story, though, one that nearly tore my heart out. One day, while they were still in the wild, as I was going to work, I saw the remains of a kitty. It had siamese markings, and was in the middle of the road, so I thought Ivory had been killed. When I could, I took the remains of that kitty and buried them. Two days later, Ivory showed up, still alive and no worse the wear. He was still alive. Turns out, though, that there were actually two siamese kittens in that group, and the other one had been hit. Well, yesterday, even though all of them were gone, I thought I saw Ivory again as I was pulling into work. I thought to myself that I must be really losing it, but, as I got out, I called to the cat in the same tone of voice I used with them when they were here. The cat looked over at me, recognizing the voice as a friend, and slowly walked around the corner. There were no surprising noises, no reasons for it to take off, and it didn't even look like it was in any kind of hurry, and I was in a place where I could easily see if it had anyway, but, when I got around the corner, the cat had completely disappeared, no trace at all. Now, granted, it could be that someone else had dropped another cat off, or it could be that the shelter missed one, but they had been so thorough in trying to get them all that I know they did. And then I remembered the cat I buried. Now I do believe that there is a part of us that is alive long after our bodies are no longer functioning, and I do believe that, when that happens, we go to where we will be the happiest to try and learn more and more, so I have to wonder. Was the cat I saw yesterday actually the spirit of the cat that had been killed? Did I actually see a ghost cat? I know that, sometimes, when pets pass on they like to stay where they were loved the most. When I was much younger I loved our dog (maltese/poodle mix) very much until she ran away. Nearly broke my heart, but there had been a couple of nights that I remember where I could swear I heard her walking in the hallway in the very distinctive style she had. Never saw anything, but I could feel that something was different. Do you believe pets can come back after they're no longer living? Have you ever had an experience seeing or feeling a long-lost and beloved pet come back? This is a good place to share. Answer: Wow, maybe it was the cat that got hit coming back to say thank you for taking it out of the road and burying it and thank you for saving it's family. I don't know if i believe in that kind of stuff or not. I had a dog Trouble who we rescued (she was a mix the vet thought maybe Shepard, Great Dane, Lab, and some other things) we had her for about 6months and she was only a year old when we lost her last year. The whole family was really close and i still cry just about everynight over her. I pray to God all the time and ask him to make sure he watches over her while she's in Heaven having the time of her life. I had to be there and dropped in to see her a t the vet before they she was going into surgery, she was all drugged up and just layed there, it didn't even look like her. As i was walking out to leave she actually picked her head up and looked at me (this kills me bc i think she knew she wasn't going to make it and was saying goodbye) i always have that vision of her in my head. Later that night we got a call from the vet, she wasn't going to make it they thought they could do the surgery to fix her but they couldn't. Then i had to give them permission to put her to sleep. I just keep replaying that day over and over. I wish that i could see something or hear something just anyhting to know that she is happy and safe. So i'm still looking for signs something to know. |
